Stepping into the world of blogging feels a bit like taking a first step – exhilarating, a little wobbly, and full of possibility. Oh, what a joy it is to finally begin! I'm excited to introduce myself and the purpose behind The Human Continuum.

As an Associate Professor of Psychological Science, my research explores the human condition: how we grow and adapt across our lives, maintain close relationships, and navigate stress and uncertainty. In my work and teaching, I take a strengths-based perspective, exploring human development from childhood through adulthood, and how family, culture, and community shape us.

My professional writing usually lives in academic journals, but I created this blog for a different purpose: to share my less-edited thoughts, my hopes for humanity, and to foster a deeper sense of connection beyond the traditional academic sphere.

The Human Continuum is an invitation to pause from noisy headlines and catastrophic pessimism to consider hopeful insights about the human experience, celebrate our connections and inherent capacity for good, and the continuous flow of the human story.

I won't sugar-coat our real human struggles or the world's inherent dangers. Instead, this space is about re-calibrating our focus toward what unites us, not what divides.

Thank you, dear human, for being here. I look forward to connecting with you.
